MORE and XML present masterplan for the Amsterdam WaterfrontClose

Commissioned by the City of Amsterdam, MORE and XML present a masterplan for the redevelopment of the Northern IJ Waterfront in Amsterdam. The vital part of this plan is a public waterfront – the Noordas – which connects eight different new urban neighbourhoods, each with its own typology and urban form. The plan is part of Amsterdam’s Spatial Vision 2050, providing a binding direction for the spatial and social development of the city. As part of developing this Spatial Vision, the Amsterdam Municipality invited six design firms to develop plans for various parts of the city.

From October 1 to November 12, these plans will be presented in the exhibition “At Home in the City of the Future” in the Amsterdam Public Library. The plan will be exhibited from 1 October to 12 November on the first floor of the Amsterdam Public Library. In parallel to this exhibition, the Municipality organizes a series of public events. For more information, see the website of the OBA (https://www.oba.nl/actueel/exposities/Exposities/tentoonstelling-thuis-in-de-stad-van-de-toekomst.htmll).

The development of the IJ-Oever masterplan is part of MORE and XML’s ongoing cooperation. The offices have collaborated extensively over the past decade, working on research, strategy and teaching projects.
