The supplier of escalator- and elevator-parts wants to develop a new logistics centre close to their new research facility. The Logistics Centre – literally a large box – needs to be efficient, low cost yet distictive. Scale and program are yet unknown. This is architecture to the bare essential: – to freely quote Denise Scott Brown & Robert Venturi: how can we turn a a decorated shed into a duck…?

The solution is as simple as it is powerful: by simply stacking the small office programs on the corners of the logistics box, we can create a curved roof, that resembles the typical Chinese roofs…distinctive in a completely orthogonal environment.
